5: rock oprea. this horse has a ton of talent and makes his return from 10 months off. he was competitive routing with the likes of johar and inesperado, so this will be a step down in class if he's ready. the real concern here is his trainer, cliff sise, who has been ice cold at oak tree. i'd give him a good luck on the track at a decent mutuel. i'm playing this race b/ci don't like king robyn, who figures chalk in here. may give thunder bullet or apache wings a look if they get away on the tote.
r6: lion heart. hoping for at least 2/1 here as this very expensive son of tale of the cat debuts for stevens and bianconne. it takes a lot for me to pass on any firster by mazel trick, but i'm hoping that the rail draw and the underlay (bailey/frankel connections)will allow me to play lion heart.
r7: pelirrojo- don't usually back these droppers, but sadler figures to have this guy ready to fire his best shot fresh.
r8: senor swinger. this guy is all sizzle and no steak, but i'm betting a little dose of bailey will make this one respond better. when right, he has a devastating kick, but he's been a massive underlay/underachiever of late. i'm hoping that we can get a decent price today and that would make him a bet in here. continuously is my second choice as his last was much much much better than looked against a trio of absolute monsters.
